My Mission
During my thirty year career working on major film and TV productions worldwide I realised the need for training for my contemporaries and those learning the ropes as new entrants.
Whilst working in major film schools worldwide I put software training at the heart of my teaching.
I have trained in these industry standard softwares since 2003 as they are central to my students' success in the industry.
I now work as a consultant for Entertainment Partners, the makers of Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting, the industry standard softwares developing their features for the ever changing production landscape.

Final Draft is the Film & TV Industry standard screenplay software, used in 95% of Hollywood productions.

Movie Magic Scheduling 6
Entertainment Partners Movie Magic Scheduling is the industry standard script breakdown and scheduling software.
Dewi has run his training course iin this software for over 20 years.
Movie Magic Scheduling 6 will no longer be supported from late 2025.
Dewi is one of very few trainers now helping industry pros with the basics of scheduling and using the new Movie Magic Scheduling 10 - see below.
New Movie Magic Scheduling 10
New Movie Magic Scheduling X is the latest version of this industry standard scheduling software.
The software has been updated with a new GUI and additional functionality.
Dewi's Training Courses are suitable for those wishing to learn the fundamentals of scheduling a drama project using the software.
- Script breakdown and entry of scene data,
- Scheduling multiple shooting scenarios for your project in a single file,
- Reporting to crew & cast.
- Exporting Schedule data to Movie Magic Budgeting.
The course is also for those wishing to progress to this new version of the software from MMS6, utlising MMSX functionality in:
- Scheduling multi-episodic television drama
- Scheduling multiple shooting units per day.
- Reporting to Casting, HODs, and exporitng data for use with MMBX software.
The training is thus suitable for Producers, Production Managers and primarily for Assistant Directors.

New Movie Magic Budgeting X released by Entertainment Partners, and is the latest version for this industry leading budget estimation software.
The software has been updated with a new GUI and a cloud based workflow.
Dewi's Training Course is suitable for those wishing to acquaint themselves with the updated software.
The course is also suitable for Producers, Production Managers and Production Accountants new to MMB, covering the astonishing budgeting tools within the software. Topics include:
- Budgeting workflow within Movie Magic
- Budgeting of numerous scenarios, in multiple currencies, within a single file,
- Keeping track of budget changes
- Reporting. to funders and HODs.
Film & TV Production Classes
For twenty years I have been teaching film students at MFA, MA and BA levels, for such organisations as the American Film Institute/University of Southern California Film School satellite RSICA, International Film School Wales, & National Film & TV School Beaconsfield.
In addition to courses on Scheduling and Budgeting, I have available a number of short courses aimed at Film Students and Industry New Entrants.
These include theory of Production, Introduction to Finance & Legal aspects to the film industry, and also role specific courses such as the work of the Assistant Directors, Production Manager, Location Manager and the Runner.
I can run these in person or online, one-on-one or in groups.

Scheduling & Budgeting Theory and Using MMS 10 and MMB 10
I have done Movie Magic Scheduling and also Budgeting courses.
We did a script breakdown and a schedule from scratch and I cannot stop saying how it is important in finance to understand the job of others to see how a change of schedule may effect the budget.
I can already see the benefit in a budget breakdown and review I am doing.
